With Sight is a narrative installation inside a video. The piece asks us to think about how we receive visual input and sound. It is an investigation into the mind of a young woman coming to terms with the loss of her eyesight, seeking refuge in an ethereal world. As she travels through the city, the clarity of her sight oscillates and she finds solace in her imagination. When the outside world becomes overwhelming, bright, and unfocused, she retreats into a place of surrealistic hidden rooms, secret chambers and imaginary beings.
The piece is built with miniature dioramas, made life-sized through a system of video capture and editing, and which represents her thoughts inside her head. In the real world, traditional video is utilized used to show the perspective of her limited sight-field; t. There is also and an aural-scape, evocative of the sensation of the visual-scape.
